Erciyes Üniversitesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Kayseri, Türkiye
Laminoplasty is a technique which was made for intraspinal pathology with
replacement of the posterior spinal arch and supporting elements. Laminoplasty has
been develeoped to prevent the formation of adhesion surrounding tissue,
membrane of laminectomy, instability and kyphosis in intraspinal patology after
laminectomy. Replacement of laminar roof with this technique is safe, well-suitable
and offers distinct advantages over laminectomy. Also, recurrent surgery for
recurrence of tumor is easy and safe with preserve posterior anatomic landmarks
and without spinal instability and scar tisssue invasion.
