Carpal Tunnel Surgery which is Made with Mini Open Techniques and Its Functional Results

Kasımpaşa Asker Hastanesi, Nöroşirürji Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the most common entrapment neuropathy. Surgery is generally preferred in cases of CTS which do not respond to conservative measures. The standard open surgical procedures, and several different endoscobic procedures have been described for surgical division of the transverse carpal ligament. In this paper, the transverse carpal ligament release surgery mini-open carpal tunnel cutting techniques used have been identified. The study is ungoing symptoms and at least 3 months accompanied by an additional non-neural pathology, 40 consecutive patients with advanced and severe CTS (46 hands) were included. All cases were done under local anesthesia without using a tourniquet. The mean follow-up period was 6,2 months (range 6 to 8 months). The mean duration of operation was 12 minutes( range 10-15 minutes). No serious surgical complications has occured. Treatment follow up parameters; Boston Questionnaire Scale (BQS), Patient Evaluation Measure (PEM), and Activities of Daily Living score (ADL) were used.
