MATERIAL and METHODS: 57 year old male with a complaint of rhinitis and erythema with edema located on the left side of the forehead which became symptomatic 1 week ago.The patient was operated with a diagnosis of anterior communicating artery aneurysm 2 years ago and no history of cranial trauma or infectious disease were present .His neurological examination was normal. Laboratory findings were leukocyte: 9770/mm3, CRP: 113 mg/dL, sedimentation: 67 mm/sec . Radiological imaging showed a left frontotemporal craniectomy defect and abscess formation adjacent to the graft and pansinuitis. The abscess was drained and antibiotheraphy was aplied. The patients neurological examination revealed no deficits during 3 month follow up .
RESULTS: PPT, usually formed after a frontal sinusitis. In this case, a PPT formed iatrogenically, as a result of unsufficient oblitaration of the frontal sinus, during a craniotomy. Most accepted treatment is evacuation of the abscess formation combined with long term antibiotheraphy
