They develop as a result of abnormal connections between arteries and veins of the scalp with subsequent dilatation of the vascular channels and aneursym formation. The majority occur as congenital anomalies, although 10-20% develops following penetran trauma to the scalp. A 5 year-old-boy presented with a painful swelling behind his left ear. The neurological examination was normal. There was no trauma. The complaints had started a three months ago and gradually increased. The clinical diagnosis of a cirsoid aneursym was confirmed on selective four-vessel brain anjiography. Our patient was treated surgically and total excision of the lesion was performed. To the our knowledge, our case is the first case of cirsoid aneursym of the scalp associated with local bone destruction in the literature.
