Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Patoloji Anabilim Dalı, Ankara
Meningiomas are common adult brain tumors originating from meningeal coverings of the brain and spinal cord. Though most examples are
slowly growing World Health organization (WHO) grade I tumors, rare variants such as, clear cell, chordoid, papillary, and rhabdoid, as well as
brain invasive (WHO grade II), atypical (WHO grade II), and anaplastic (WHO grade III) meningiomas are considered more aggressive. This review
summarizes the histopathological features and grading schemes of meningiomas, including differential diagnosis and immunohistochemical
features.
