Çukurova Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Adana, Türkiye Petroclival meningiomas remain a surgical challenge despite their benign pathology. Their crucial location is the most important factor leading to a fatal outcome. The advent of advanced imaging, modern surgical techniques, intraoperative monitoring and better postoperative care have improved these results. A systematic, multidiciplinary approach to these tumors along with a th ---rough understanding of the operative approaches and their indications are essential for successful treatment with acceptable morbidity. The presigmoid petrosal approach and its variations are currently the most preferred operative techniques for surgical management of these lesions.
