Central neurocytoma (CN) was first deccribed by Hassoun et al. In 1982. Central neurocytomas are 0.1-0.5% of all intracranial tumors. Classically,
the tumor affects young adults at the third decade. Generally, they are found in the anterior portion of the lateral ventricle. Extraventricular
neurocytomas have been reported in a variety of locations. The typical clinical manifestation is consistent with the signs and symptoms
associated with obstructive hydrocephalus. CN is WHO grade 2 tumor with a favorable prognosis and malignant clinical course is rare. It has
been reported craniospinal spread and recurrence after total resection despite the benign histopathology and clinical course. Gold standart
treatment for this tumor is a total resection whenever possible. Radiotherapy is necessary for patients with incomplete resection and atypical
neurocytoma. Gamma knife therapy is a suitable method for the small residues after surgery. Chemotherapy rarely used in patients with
recurrent tumor.
