Nöroşirürjii Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye Depressed fractures are frequently seen at the practice of emergency brain surgery and are reported between 10-50% at different series of all cranial fractures. At depressed fractures, surgical indications were determined quite good in the practice of neurosurgery and if neurological changes appears in the early period surgical intervention should be performed absolutely. At depressed fractures there is no defined approach for patients that have delayed neurological deficits without extra parenchymal damage because of limited cases. 39-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of temporal depressed fracture after head trauma was followed up without surgical intervention because of having normal neurological examination and two weeks later new imaging was done due to newly developed dysphasia at new imaging left temporal depressed fracture which was observed initial images and in addition edema at the adjacent parenchyma. Dysphasia completly recovered in the second hour after surgery. This case report shows emergency surgery can contribute to better prognosis at delayed neurological symptoms after trauma.
