Giant Cell Glioblastoma Multiforme: Rapid Conus Medullaris Metastasis
1Marmara Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye2Marmara Üniversitesi, Nörolojik Bilimler Enstitüsü, İstanbul, Türkiye Glioblastoma Multiforme is very aggresive and rapidly progressing tumor which presents extracranial dissemination rarely. Glioblastome is the most common seen brain tumor among all intracranial tumors. Despite modern surgical and adjuvant treatment metthods, median survival is no longer then 14 months. Factors determining patient survival depend on either hystological subtypes and immunohystochemical markers as well. Eventhough giant cell variant of glioblastoma suggests less invasive nature then the others and spinal metastasis of glioblastome usually occurs in late times of disease, here we present very fast occurence of conus medullaris metastasis, eight weeks after initial diagnosis while patient was having post operative adjuvant treatment.
