Extradural Sacral Cavernoma: A Case Report

They are most frequently observed in brain tissue and can be seen along the spinal canal. Spinal cavernomas are often seen in extradural region and are usually placed in thoracic and cervical region. Cavernomas are rare in the lumbosacral region. According to their location, lumbosacral extradural cavernomas may cause local pain, radiculopathy, acute spinal cord compression with mass effect or bleeding. Diagnosis can be made by MRI. The main treatment of extradural cavernomas with clinical findings is surgical excision. The case in this study is the first reported isolated sacral cavernoma in the literature, therefore it is worth to be presented.isolated sacral cavernoma in the literature, therefore it is worth to be presented.
