3Medipol Üniversitesi Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Bölümü, İstanbul, Türkiye Intraoperative neuromonitorization is used commonly in neurosurgery. Here, we aim to emphasize the importance of its use, especially in skull base surgery to minimize surgical morbidity. We report a case of foramen magnum meningioma and discuss the peroperative electrophysiological findings. A 71-year-old female patient was admitted to our clinic with complaints of neck pain for three months and imbalance for three years. Cranial MRI revealed a 2 cm diameter lesion at the level of the foramen magnum anteriorly, suggesting a meningioma. Total tumor resection was performed under the guidance of peroperative neuronavigation. No neurological deficit was encountered postoperatively. The symptoms improved and the hospital course was uneventful. She was discharged on the 5th postoperative day. Anahtar Kelimeler : Meningioma, Neuromonitorization, Electrophysiology, Skull base
