1İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye2İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi, Patoloji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Meningiomas are generally located subdurally but may be seen in extradural localisations in 0.6-1.2% of cases. The intraosseous meningioma is not a histopathological subtype but so named for its localisation. This type of meningioma is very rare. Although having similar histopathological properties with subdurally located meningiomas, the natural course of intraosseous meningioma is more aggressive. It is divided into two subtypes according to behavioural characteristics as osteoblastic, and mixed-osteolytic. They may clinically or radiologically be misdiagnosed as primary or metastatic bone tumors. The definitive diagnosis can be done histopathologically. The aim of surgical treatment is total excision of the tumor. If total removal is not possible, radiological and clinical follow-up is necessary for low-grade tumors while radiotherapy and chemotherapy are mandatory for high-grade subtypes. The bone defect that is formed after excision must be repaired by a graft. Anahtar Kelimeler : Intraosseous meningioma, Pseudotumor cerebri, Cranioplasty
