Erciyes Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Kayseri, Türkiye Cavernous hemangiomas are rarely seen along the optic nerve, optic chiasm and visual tracts. The anatomical localization of these lesions makes it diff icult to reach and remove them. A 21-year-old female patient who complained of blurry vision for the last month was referred to our clinic. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging revealed a lesion with heterogenous contrast enhancement that originated from the left optic foramen and extended to the chiasma level. Neuronavigation-guided total resection of the tumor was performed with a cranioorbital craniotomy. Histopathological evaluation of the specimen was reported to be a cavernous hemangioma. The cavernous hemangioma of the optic nerve was removed totally and the vision improved during post-surgical follow-up.
