Frontal dermoid cyst (anterior fontanelle dermoid cyst) is a rare cystic lesion that develops during embryological stages and appears in the head and neck regions of infants. We report a 4-month-old infant with a frontal dermoid cyst presenting with a swelling over her fontanelle. Computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging techniques were utilized in order to characterize the structure of the cyst. No intracranial extension was found. The cyst was treated and cured by surgical extirpation. It contained a colorless, odorless liquid and the cyst wall was lined with abundant fatty particles as well as developed hair follicles. The cyst was recognized to be a dermoid cyst intraoperatively and this was later confirmed by pathological examination.
