1Çukurova Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Adana, Türkiye Posterior fossa meningiomas account for 10% of intracranial meningiomas. About half of these meningiomas are presented in cerebellopontine angle, 40% in tentorial or cerebellar convexity, 9% in clivus, and 6% in foramen magnum region. It is important to understand the tumor origin and localization. For instance, meningiomas, which are originated from medial part of the trigeminal nerve, (Petroclival meningiomas), must be discriminate from the ones originated from the lateral part of trigeminal nerve because surgical morbidity is very high in petroclival meningiomas.
