Özlem PATA1
1Acıbadem Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Craniosynostosis is defined as a premature closure of one or more cranial sutures and refers to a wide spectrum of cranial malformation. Although craniosynostosis is a feature of many syndromes, single sutural synostosis is most commonly isolated and prenatal diagnosis is difficult. However prenatal identification is very important for family counselling and perinatal management. Nowadays different methods can be applied for prenatal diagnosis of this condition such as two dimensional (2D), three dimensional (3D) ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT). In this review, we discuss prenatal normal cranial appearance and the findings allude to craniosynostosis in the ultrasound. Anahtar Kelimeler : Craniosynostosis, Ultrasound, Diagnosis
