1Bakırköy Mazhar Osman Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye We will discuss the minimally invasive procedures that are used more and more frequently in aneurysm surgery in addition to standard pterional craniotomy in this article. The aim is to familiarise the reader with minimally invasive methods, as well as the surgical results and advantages. Minimally invasive approaches commonly used in recent years include the supraorbital, lateral supraorbital, mini-pterional, mini-orbitozygomatic and interhemispheric approaches. These approaches contribute to lesser traumatization of the temporal muscle, lesser exposure of the brain parenchyma, and lesser manipulation of the exposed brain; facilitate wound healing due to the small size of the incision, and result in minimized risk of cerebrospinal fluid fistulae and reduction of cosmetic problems. These approaches allow surgical freedom as much as the classical pterional craniotomy. These approaches will be briefly mentioned and lateral supraorbital craniotomy, which we prefer, will be emphasised. Anahtar Kelimeler : Aneurysm, Surgical treatment, Minimally invasive approach
