Intracranial Giant Aneurysms: Report of two Cases

Sağlık Bakanlığı Ankara Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Nöroşirurji Kliniği, ANKARA Intracranial aneurysms are called giant aneurysms, if the largest diameter is greater than 25 mm; and they constitute about 5 % of all intracranial aneurysms. The reason of death is subaracnoid bleeding and 30-40 % of giant aneurym cause subaracnoid bleeding of 80 %, which give symtoms cause death in five years. In other words, they have high mortality and morbidity rates if not treated while clipping of aneurysm, excision, carotis ligation, trapping, EC-IC by-pass, IC-IC by-pass are surgical methods; also endovasculer methods are can be used.

Recently, precautionary measures to protect brain are gained importance in brain surgery. Better microsurgery tecnics, using intraoperatif angiografi, wide clip alternatives and temporary clipping of circulation have made open surgical operations safer.
