1Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, İbni Sina Hastanesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Ankara, Türkiye Distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms are rare among all intracranial aneurysms. Their first-line treatment is controversial because of the various neuroanatomical localizations, configurations, morphological variations, generally wide-based configurations, distal localizations and tortuosity of the parent arteries. The incidence of intracerebral hematoma is relatively higher than with other ruptured intracranial aneurysms. There are very few case series in the literature, and objective criteria have not yet been created in order to determine the effective and correct treatment modality. In addition, patient outcomes with different treatment modalities are not compared in detail, the factors determining the choice of treatment method are not clearly defined and the technical difficulties encountered during the procedure are not discussed. The relationship between the presence of an intracerebral hematoma and the patient outcomes of the ruptured distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms have not been investigated in detail for each treatment option, and the technical difficulties and limitations specific to each treatment modality have not been addressed. In this article, the patient outcomes and prognostic values of intracerebral hematoma in patients with ruptured distal anterior cerebral aneurysms are summarized in the light of the recent literature.
