Both the narrow volume and the complex anatomical structure make surgical approaches to this fine anatomical region quite difficult. The orbit has always been an area of interest not only in neurosurgery, but also in ophthalmology and plastic surgery. Therefore, many anatomical, radiological and clinical studies have been performed on the orbit. The aim of this review is to summarize the anatomy of the orbit, to revisit the important anatomical structures and to present the surgical approaches to the lesions developing in and around the orbit.
