Neurotrauma is the most important cause of mortality and morbidity among young adults at the present time. In the United States, 50,000 patients die annually due to head trauma.

In neurotrauma patients, change of intracranial pressure dynamics causes increased intracranial pressure syndrome and brain herniations. In order to avoid these conditions and secondary brain injury, preventing extreme intracranial pressure changes and restoring the normal state if the pressure has already increased are mandatory. Management of neurotrauma patients is a combination of both medical and surgical treatment modalities. Neurosurgeons play an important role in the treatment of these patients. Monitoring the cases and applying case-specific treatments increase survival. Anahtar Kelimeler : Neurotrauma, Intracranial pressure, Intracranial pressure monitoring
