Head injury in the elderly population occurs most often due to accidental falls. Traumatic brain injury is one of the most important health and socioeconomic problems worldwide. Besides the pre-existing comorbidity, the severity and mechanism of injury should be considered in the elderly. When deciding on the treatment method, the previous diseases, anticoagulant use, neurological status at the time of admission to the emergency room, and radiological examinations must be evaluated. These factors also directly affect the mortality and morbidity. The idea of follow-up without surgery has been considered in the elderly population with traumatic brain injury in recent years. More studies are needed in this field to better explain the incidence in this group and the impact of comorbid conditions on the subsequent process.
