1Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Denizli, Türkiye Medulloblastoma is the second most common primary malignant brain tumour after childhood gliomas. Four variants with different genetic mechanisms have been identified. Genetic studies show that these subgroups also contain different subtypes. The wide range of symptoms seen, especially in the paediatric group, leads to late diagnosis. Hydrocephalus is observed in most of the patients at the time of diagnosis. The treatment consists of a combination of craniospinal radiotherapy and adjuvant chemotherapy following surgical intervention. Severe late sequelae are seen with standard treatment protocols. Developing specific therapies that can prevent these sequelae through genetic research has been planned in recent years. We aim to present a detailed review of medulloblastoma including the symptomatology, radiology, diagnostic workup and medical and surgical management.
