1Adana Şehir Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, Adana, Türkiye Dural arteriovenous fistulas occurring in the superior sagittal sinus region are extremely rare and may present with intracranial haemorrhage and progressive neurological deficit. They are more common in women. They are also more common over the age of forty. The etiology is still controversial. Head injuries and hormonal factors are blamed. Due to the midline location and mutiple arterial supply, a cure is difficult. Superior sagittal sinus dural arteriovenous fistulas are prone to bleeding. Therefore, they should be treated aggressively. Endovascular techniques are an effective method for the treatment of superior sagittal sinus region dural arteriovenous fistulas. Transarterial embolization, transvenous embolization, or a combination is used in endovascular treatment. Although many complications can occur, this approach achieves good outcomes in most cases.
