Vascular neurosurgery has emerged historically with the aim of intervening in and regulating the treatment of patients with high risk, a highly variable prognosis, and high mortality. Technological developments and creativity in neurosurgery have led to the development of vascular surgery and many subgroups. Indeed, most of the numerous evolutionary and revolutionary advances in the practice of neurological surgery have arisen from the need to treat and cure vascular disease of the brain and spinal cord. From anatomy to pathology, from preoperative imaging to intraoperative imaging, and from creative microsurgical approaches to endovascular techniques, vascular neurosurgery has undergone many changes and continues to progress with new technological developments every day. Scientific studies are shared from all over the world and this sharing accelerates the process. Many scientists from our country have participated in this process and made valuable contributions to enlighten the pathophysiology and treatment protocols of cerebral vascular diseases.
