Tremor is the rhythmic, involuntary, regular trembling movement of a body part around a fixed point, and the first-line treatment is primarily medical treatment. In cases where medical treatments are insufficient or contraindicated due to their side effects, neurosurgical interventions may come to the fore. Surgical treatments can be considered in patients affected by essential tremor, Parkinson"s disease tremor, Holmes tremor, and multiple sclerosis tremor. In addition to lesion surgeries such as Gamma Knife or radiofrequency thalamotomy, and focused ultrasound thalamotomy, there are surgical treatment options such as deep brain stimulation. It is possible to treat movement disorders with surgical interventions on the thalamus, subthalamic nucleus and internal globus pallidus. According to the characteristics of the patients, satisfactory results are obtained with such surgeries in the right indications.
