Cervical spinal degenerative changes occur as a result of the wear and tear process of the aging cervical spine. Cervical spinal degenerative changes include spondylosis, disc and joint degenerations, disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and instability. Clinically, patients may be asymptomatic or present with axial neck pain, radiculopathy, and/or myelopathy findings. Clinical findings, which may be underestimated and sometimes neglected in daily practice, are as important as radiological imaging and laboratory tests. In the clinical evaluation, a detailed history, and physical and neurological examination findings are crucial for proper patient management. While deciding on the treatment, one must focus on the compatibility of clinical findings with radiological imaging and laboratory tests. In this review, the clinical symptoms and signs of cervical spinal degenerative disorders frequently encountered in daily practice are reviewed in the light of the current literature.
