Over time, spine surgeons have come to realize the superiority of these anterior approaches. However, it is not always safe to provide stability with interbody fusion. Grafts often collapse and become extruded. The result is nonunion and kyphotic angulation. The incidence of such formations increases when the level of surgery increases, and also increases when an allograft is used. Despite pioneering efforts to decompress and stabilize the cervical spine with the anterior approach, posterior decompression of the cervical spine has remained the preferred approach. However, it should be noted that while the anterior approach generally allows fusion, the posterior approach does not. Anahtar Kelimeler : Cervical spondylosis, Cervical disc herniation, Cervical cage
