1Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi İstanbul Gaziosmanpaşa Sağlık Uygulama Araştırma Merkezi, Acil Tıp Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye The Pazarcık-Kahramanmaraş earthquake, which occurred on February 6, 2023, had a significant impact on the region, resulting in high loss of life and significant infrastructure damage. A total of 35 field hospitals have been established in the region. Field hospitals play a crucial role in situations where the healthcare infrastructure is damaged and in providing medical assistance to the affected population. These hospitals can also be established by international aid organizations and the field hospitals of these organizations took an active role in the Kahramanmaraş earthquake. Although there are deficiencies in the legislative infrastructure of these hospitals in Turkey, it is thought that standardization and planning for the improvement of their roles should be regulated in the light of scientific information. More research is needed to develop effective strategies to improve the service quality of these hospitals, which have a critical role in the continuation of post-earthquake health services.
