Erhan BİLİR
Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroloji Anabilim Dalı, Beşevler, Ankara Objective: The surgical treatment of medically refractory epilepsy has developed rapidly in the past 15 years. Because the careful patient selection is essential for succesful surgery, the presurgical evaluation a t the beginning is to determine whether the patient is a candidate for surgery. Then the primary objective is to identify the onset region responsible for generating the patient's habitual seizure.

Methods: The evaluation is typically carried out by a multidisciplinary team.

Conclusion: With the advent of video/EEG monitoring, advances in structural and functional neuroimaging, and technical advances with invasive electrode placement, epilepsy surgery is becoming safer and more effective. Anahtar Kelimeler : Epilepsy surgery, presurgical evaluations
