THE FIRST BRAIN SURGERY BOOK KNOWN IN TURKISH: (BRAIN AND CRANIUM DISORDERS AND THEIR TREATMENTS)

Neurosurgical procedurs and publications in this process commonly consisted of case reports. There were a few books about neurosurgery. In this study a book, entitled as "Brain and cranium disorders and treatments", written by a general surgeon, Mim Kemal Öke was reviewed. This book has two parts. The first part focused on theoretical information on general neurosurgery, whereas the second part provided an illustrated operative brain surgery section. This book is the first Turkish brain surgery book written in Ottoman capitals. In this study, some parts of this book was translated to current Turkish language. This book deserve to place among Turkish neurosurgical literature.
