PERIMESENCEPHALIC SUBARACHNOID HEMORRHAGE CAUSED BY HYPERTENSION CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Orhangazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Eskişehir Objective: Although the perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhages are very rare, they include 10% of the DSA negative subarachnoid hemorrhages. The bleeding can be only seen in the perimesencephalic region. The etiology is still controversial.

Method: In this article, a case of perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhage following an acute hypertensive attack is presented with a review of literature.

Conclusion: We want to emphasize that hypertension may be the main cause of perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhages and may require psychiatric evaluation. Anahtar Kelimeler : Perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhage, hypertension
