An event that occurred in the Eastern Front during the First World War is presented based upon a memory. As far as we understand, Dr Fazil Halit, the general surgeon of Erzurum Military Hospitals of the Third Army, operated on an officer of cavalry with cranial gunshot injury.

As being the former associate of Cemil Topuzlu Pasha, Professor of Surgery at the Royal Faculty of Medicine, Dr Fazil Halit probably performed first modern neurotraumatologic procedures in the contex of general surgery in Erzurum area Anahtar Kelimeler : Neurosurgery, History, Erzurum, Cemil Topuzlu, Fazıl Halit Tipi
