Osteoblastoma is a rare benign tumor which constitutes less than 1 % of primary bone tumors. It is mostly seen in men and peaks in the 2nd decade of life. The presenting sign of the cases is pain which may be radicular and aggravated by movement. After surgical excision, osteoblastomas can act aggressively and local recurrence can be seen. In this case report, a 20 years-old male patient who has been previously treated and followed up for one year under a diagnosis of lomber disc hernia is presented. Radiodiagnostic evaluation in our hospital revealed a mass lesion on L3 vertebra. After the surgical excision, no reccurence has been detected during 12 months of his follow-up. In the differential diagnosis, benign bone tumors should be kept in mind in young adults with chronic lumbar pain and searched radiologically even though neurological examination is normal.
