Çanakkale 18 Mart Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Çanakkale, Türkiye Odontoid fractures are consisit of 10-15 % of all cervical spine fractures. Type II and surface type III odontoid fractures are known as instabile fractures. In the past, surgically endicated odontoid fractures are managed with anterior odontoid screw stabilization or posterior cervical (c1-2 pedicular yada c1-2 transarticular)or craniocervical (C0-1-2-3) stabilizations. After the developing of surgical procedures and minimally invasive approaches in spine surgery, minimally invasive approaches of the type II odontoid fracures are developped. In recent 10 years, the anterior percutaneous odontoid fixation is described with cadaver studies and following case series are placed in the literatures. In this paper, we reported the anterior percutaneous minimally invasive approach to the type II odontoid fractures.
