Thoracoscopic Anterior Approach to Thoracal Spine

Amerikan Hastanesi, Nöroşirürji Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye OBJECTIVE: Any surgery should be performed with minimal tissue damage. In this article we gave our experience about thoracoscopic surgery which is a minimal invasive technique.

METHODS: The general information about endoscopic thoracal surgery was mentioned. Small Windows are openede to the wall, one window is used for endoscope to watch the thoracal cavity and thoracal spine. The other windows are for instruments and localisation and the other activities. Number and localization of windows are adjusted to the pathology.

RESULTS: In general findings are discussed after the endoscopic thoracal surgery.

CONCLUSION: Endoscopic thoracal surgery should be chosen as a preferential surgery for the treatment of appropriate thoracal pathology cases which cause minimal tissue damage. Anahtar Kelimeler : Endoscopic surgery, Thoracoscope, Spinal tumor, Spinal trauma, Thoracal disc herniation, VATS
