Although there is a debate about the type and technique of surgical interventions at this pathology, it seems with todays knowledge that; microdiskectomy is the golden standart. It is superior, because of its minimally invasive nature at the begining. At the literature; performing this technique without flavectomy is more popular todays. In this study we aim to investigate effects of flavectomy at this surgical technique by means of literature knowledge. As a conclusion; this addition to microdiskectomy increases operation time and needs an additional learning time but on the other hand, it is a more pyhsiological surgical intervention and have a high potential for postoperative epidural fibrosis prevention.
