S.B. Şişli Etfal Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Bölümü, İstanbul, Türkiye Arachnoid cysts are a congenital abnormality and constitute 1 % of all intracranial pathology. It is seen most frequently in the middle fossa, cerebellopontin angle, suprasellar region and posterior fossa. It is usually determined as an incidental finding. The traumatic rupture of an arachnoid cyst to the subdural space without an evidence of a hemorrhage is seen rarely and only 23 cases were reported in the literature so far. The clinical and radiological finding of a 4 years old patient with an asymptomatic frontal arachnoid cyst with traumatic rupture to the subdural space was reported. If these lesions do not cause any mass effect or bleeding they can be observed clinically and radiologically. After the observation of this patient spontaneous resolution of the arachnoid cyst without any clinical finding was seen. Anahtar Kelimeler : Aracnoid cyst, Trauma, Spontaneous resolution
