Selçuk PEKER
Acıbadem Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Meningiomas are very frequently seen tumors in neurosurgical practice. Convexity meningiomas can be removed totally in most situations. This may result in complete cure in those patients. However, skull base meningiomas or venous sinus infiltrating meningiomas pose difficulties for surgical treatment. The morbidity and mortality rates are not low. Radiosurgery can be used in meningiomas with a high tumor control rate and low complication rate. Residual or recurrent meningiomas are other tumors that can be treated with radiosurgery.
