Primitive neuroectodermal tumors, a group of malignant neoplasms, arise from pluripotent neural crest cells. Primitive neuroectodermal tumors usually develop in the cerebellum, but they may also arise in different areas of the cerebrum. It is important to make the differentiation between central and peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor because the spine is reported to host both central and peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor. Although both central primitive neuroectodermal tumor and peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor are aggressive tumors, peripheral tumor is known to metastasise and invade in tissues, while central primitive neuroectodermal tumor rarely metastasises outside the central nervous system. We present the clinical, radiological, and pathological features of a atypical central primitive neuroıectodermal tumor that occurred in the cervical and thoracic spinal cord of a 26-year-old-man.
