Classifications of Pediatric Hydrocephalus and Pathophysiology

Hydrocephalus is the most common problem that has occupied the practice of pediatric neurosurgery. Hydrocephalus is a complex pathophysiology with disturbed cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation. The studies and experimental researches about CFS physiology and hydrocephalus have been found nearly 100 years. The goals of etiological studies dealing with hydrocephalus are to determine the risk factors and taking preventive measures in risk groups and building up a strategy for accurate treatment. This review is discussed the results of current studies on the pathophysiology and classification of pediatric hydrocephalus.
