İstanbul Üniversitesi, Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Arachnoid cysts are the most frequently observed intracranial cysts. The first and most important step in the treatment of arachnoid cysts is a properly chosen indication. Treatment indications can change according to clinical findings and age of patients, radiological findings, localization and size of the cyst. There are two main treatment modalities: 1) Cystoperitoneal shunt or ventriculoperitoneal shunt, 2) Fenestration between cyst, cisterns and the ventricle (endoscopic or with craniotomy). Endoscopic technique is successful in midline suprasellar and quadrigeminal arachnoid cysts. Endoscopy is also successful in laterally located Sylvian arachnoid cysts, whereas shunt placement is not a wrong option. Anahtar Kelimeler : Arachnoid cyst, Endoscopy, Shunt
