The literature on patients whose temporal lobe epileptic seizures did not respond to antiepileptic drug treatment were evaluated for epilepsy surgery techniques, the surgical prosedure and results. Presurgical investigations included long-term waking and sleep EEG monitoring , and cranial CT and MRI scans. Patients with an unilateral temporal epileptic focus were operated on using the surgical procedures of anterior temporal lobectomy together with amygdalohippocampectomy. The results, follow-up and new procedures are evaluated. Anahtar Kelimeler : Temporal lobectomy, Amygdalohippocampectomy, Epilepsy, Surgical treatment
