1Ankara Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Ankara, Türkiye
Posterior fossa is the deepest one of all canial fossas. It contains the structures related to vital functions. Posterior fossa comprises
from tentorial incisura to the foramen magnum. Vascular supply of the posterior fossa is provided by vertebral and basilary arteries
and their branches. There are 3 main approaches to this fossa; Median suboccipital, paramedian suboccipital and retrosigmoid
(retroauricular) approaches. In this review, we tried to show these 3 approaches by a cadaver study.
