Trauma is one of the most common focus areas of neurosurgery and the most frequent cause of mortality and morbidity in children
as well as in adults. Children have anatomical and physiological differences when compared to adults. These differences make
them more vulnerable to injuries and require different management. Patients evaluated in the pediatric group generally cover a large
population between the ages of 0-18 years. This period is therefore divided into three groups within itself as newborn (first year),
preschool (early childhood) and school age (late childhood). The age group of the patient evaluated for trauma is very important in
the treatment. The number of treatment variables decreases as the age approaches adulthood. This article reviews the typical clinical features of traumas seen in children and the differences with adults.
