GATA Haydarpaşa Eğitim Hastanesi, Beyin Cerrahisi Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye Spinal stabilization and fusion surgery have a prominent place in neurosurgery practice today. Fixation with transpedicular screw and posterolateral fusion application is regarded as the most developed and effective method, a high degree of fusion and stability is provided within the system, the risk of pseudoarthrosis is eliminated and the advancement in neurological deficits are halted. The patients are mobilized at the early stage and hospitalization time is shortened, therefore quickening return to daily activities and providing psychological relief. However, long-terim complications such as breaks in screws or development of malposition on rods due to instrument usage in operations can be experienced, hence revision surgeries are conducted. Yet, due to the fusion, developing in the course of time, revision surgery may not be needed at all times. We presented the modified revision surgery which we conducted on two of our patients, on whom broken screws were detected in evaluations made in consequence of the patients' complaints after their stabilization surgeries in our clinic.
