Giant Intradiploic Meningioma Causing Visual Loss
1İstanbul Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye2İstanbul Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Patoloji Kliniği, İstanbul, Türkiye Meningiomas are common benign intracranial neoplasms representing 20% of all primary intracranial tumors. Primary intraosseous meningiomas are a subgroup of ectopic meningiomas and form %1 of all meningiomas. Intradiploic meningiomas are a rare type of primary intraosseous meningiomas. We report a 41-year-old female who presented with progressive onset of right exophthalmos with visual loss. The plain radiograph, computerized tomography scan, and magnetic resonance imaging showed an orbital tumor. The tumor was excised by wide frontobasal craniotomy that included the orbital roof. The frontal defect was closed with acrylic cranioplasty at the same session. The histopathological diagnosis was transitional meningioma. We present a rare case of intradiploic meningioma and discuss the pathogenesis, radiology and surgical technique. Anahtar Kelimeler : Meningioma, Intradiploic, Skull base, Visual loss, Exophthalmos
