4Harran Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Kliniği, Şanlıurfa, Türkiye Spinal meningioma (SM) accounts for 25% of all spinal tumors. The majority of SMs are intradural and less than 10% have an extradural extension. This case report reveals a 40-year-old female patient complaining of numbness in the arms and legs. Her neurological examination showed hypoesthesia and spastic quadriparesis below the Th1 level. Spinal magnetic resonance screening showed an extradural mass at the C7-Th1 level with homogeneous iso- to hypo-intense dense contrast enhancement on T1- and T2-weighted sequences. C6-Th2 laminoplasty was performed, and the extradural mass was totally removed by microsurgery. The pathology was reported as meningotheliomatous meningioma. Although extradural spinal meningiomas are rare, they should be considered in the differential diagnosis as they mimic spinal metastatic masses. Surgery should be the first choice of treatment.
