¹İstanbul Üniversitesi, Onkoloji Enstitüsü, İstanbul, Türkiye Targeted treatments were established as a novel treatment modality in addition to standard treatments including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This work aims to summarize the current situation and developments of targeted treatments for brain tumors. With improved understanding of glioblastoma pathogenesis, novel targeted treatments that targeted angiogenesis, growth factors and intracellular and intercellular signaling mechanisms have been designed. The current treatment strategies are trending towards these targeted drugs and their combinations due to efficiency and low toxicity. As it is the case for most other cancers, targeted treatments have made their way into daily clinical use in brain tumors and have significantly improved patient care.
