Objective: In recent years studies about flow cytometric deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) analysis of meningiomas revealed the correlation between aneuploidy and tumor grade and also that histological findings are poor in predicting the prognosis. In predicting the prognosis, DNA analysis in tumor cells and proliferative activation is getting more popular.

Methods: Om study included 12 cases of meningioma diagnosed in Çukurova University Medical School Department of Pathology. The cases are graded according to WHO classification. Flow cytometric DNA analysis , Proliferating Cell Nucelar Antigen (PCNA) and Ki-67 are studied from paraffin embedded tissues.

Results: Based on the statisticaly analysis, there was no correlation between histopathological grading and Flow cytometric DNA analysis. However, when Ki67 and PCNA was compared with histopathological grade; a lineer correlation was found between grade and mean labeling index (LI).

Conclusion: According to our study; PCNA and especially Ki-67 can be useful in tumor grading and recurrens in meningiomas but flow cytometric DNA analysis has a poor value in grading the meningiomas. Anahtar Kelimeler : Flow cytometry, grade, immunohistochemistry, meningioma
